Stainless is hard enough that a string takes a long time to take a "set" whereas strings nestle down into even hard bell brass fast enough for me. The Rutters are my # 1 choice for stainless. The spacing is real tenuous, getting the strings safely past the height screws.Ĭallaham brass is easy choice # 1 for brass users wanting a premium saddle that will always set up best so long as the space between the strings and the body is not great.
